Valves are not guaranteed. They are plastic and can break.
The most common cause is lifting the handle. When pushing
handle down there is a stop. This is not the case if the handle
is lifted; there is no stop and because of  the length of the
handle it creates too much pressure on the ears that lift the
stem of the water release diaphragm. Replacement valves
are available at the counter.
